Patriots reach injury settlement with Holt

Boston, MA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The New England Patriots have reached an
injury settlement with veteran wide receiver Torry Holt.
The Boston Herald reported Wednesday evening that Holt and the team worked out
a deal where the Patriots will grant him his release, enabling the 11-year pro
to become a free agent.
Sources including the National Football Post report that Holt, who was placed
on injured reserve on Sunday with a knee injury that will require surgery, was
due $1.15 million base salary and was given a $50,000 signing bonus when New
England brought him in back in April.
This may mark the end of the road for Holt, who is 34 years old. The 6-foot,
200-pounder played in 15 games for the Jaguars last season, catching a
career-low 51 passes for 722 yards.
The seven-time Pro Bowl selection is most notably known for his illustrious
10-year stint with the St. Louis Rams. The North Carolina State product has
amassed 13,382 yards and 74 touchdowns during his career and ranks 11th all-
time with 920 receptions.
